Stop Replacing Geyser Elements So Often
LEDars PTC geyser elements are designed for South African water conditions, solar PV integration and lower operating stress. With stainless steel construction, PTC heating technology and dry-burn protection, LEDars offers a smarter replacement option for standard resistive geyser elements.
1. Why Choose LEDars PTC Elements?
Standard geyser elements can fail early because of limescale build-up, poor water quality, dry-burn events and high electrical load. LEDars PTC elements are designed to operate more efficiently and at lower stress, helping reduce replacement frequency and improving geyser performance in hard-water areas.

Key benefits:
| Benefit | What it means |
|---|---|
| PTC heating technology | More controlled heating behaviour compared with conventional resistance elements |
| Stainless steel design | Better durability and corrosion resistance |
| Dry-burn protection | Helps protect the element if the geyser loses water |
| Hard-water suitability | Designed for poor-quality and hard-water areas |
| Solar PV friendly | Lower draw can make geyser integration easier on PV systems |
| Lower replacement cost over time | Longer-lasting element means fewer call-outs and replacements |
2. Ideal for Solar PV Geyser Loads
Conventional geyser elements often draw too much power for many residential solar PV systems. A lower-draw LEDars PTC element can make it easier to include the geyser in your energy-saving strategy, especially where the objective is to reduce grid dependence without overloading the inverter or battery system.
3. Available LEDars Models
LEDars 2kW Flange PTC Geyser Element
LEDars 3kW Flange PTC Geyser Element

LEDars 2kW Screw-In PTC Geyser Element
LEDars 3kW Screw-In PTC Geyser Element

PTC elements must be matched to both the geyser size and the element fitting type.
For most 150 litre geysers:
A normal 3 kW copper element is normally replaced with a 2 kW PTC element.
- If your current element is a 3 kW screw-in type, select the 2 kW PTC screw-in element.
- If your current element is a 3 kW flange type, select the 2 kW PTC flange element.
For most 200 litre or larger geysers:
A normal 4 kW copper element is normally replaced with a 3 kW PTC element.
- If your current element is a 4 kW screw-in type, select the 3 kW PTC screw-in element.
- If your current element is a 4 kW flange type, select the 3 kW PTC flange element.
Important:
Please do not select by kW rating only. First confirm whether your geyser uses a screw-in element or a flange type element. The replacement PTC element must use the same fitting type as the original element.
If you are unsure, please ask your installer/plumber or send us a photo of the existing element or geyser label before purchasing.
